# Oakton College Board of Trustees

Oakton College is Evanston’s community college district. Its campuses are in Des Plaines and Skokie. Two trustee seats, each a six-year term, are on the April 6, 2027 ballot. Every Evanston voter can vote in this race. [1][2]

## About the office

- Election — Tuesday, April 6, 2027. Nonpartisan, with no primary.[3]
- Seats on the ballot — 2 of 7 elected trustees. Each is a six-year term, through 2033.[1]
- Current holders — William Stafford (Vice Chair) and Benjamin Salzberg have terms ending in 2027.[4]
- Who votes — Voters in Maine, Evanston, New Trier, Niles and Northfield townships, plus small parts of Wheeling, Norwood and Leyden townships — including all of Evanston. Trustees are elected district-wide.[4][5]
- Candidate filing — Nov 16–23, 2026, 8 a.m.–5 p.m., Room 1500, Oakton College, 1600 E. Golf Rd., Des Plaines. Candidates need at least 50 voter signatures.[1][5]
- To qualify — A U.S. citizen, 18 or older, and a district resident for one year before the election.[5]
- Last time — In 2025, six candidates ran for three seats. Wendy Yanow, Marie Lynn Toussaint and Micah Eimer won.[6][4]
The board also has a student trustee, chosen by students rather than voters. New trustees take office within 28 days after the election. [4][5]
