About this guide
A plain-language guide to Evanston’s 2027 local elections. Every fact links to where it came from.
How we work
- Sourced, every time. Each fact has a numbered footnote to an official record, the candidate’s own materials, or a published news report. If we can’t source it, we don’t publish it.
- Same format for everyone. Each candidate in a race gets the same profile sections, in the same order. Candidates are listed alphabetically by last name. That is not the order on the ballot, which is set by the election officials.
- Announced vs. certified. Until filing closes and the ballot is certified, we list candidates who have publicly announced, and label them that way.
- Dates we can’t confirm yet, like 2027 early-voting sites, are marked “not yet announced,” and updated when officials publish them.
- Not official. This is not a government website. The Cook County Clerk and the Evanston City Clerk are the official sources.
For candidates
If you’re a candidate in one of these races, send us your campaign website, a high-resolution headshot link, a short bio, and your top priorities, using the form below. We publish only what we can attribute to you or to a public record. Everything is labeled as the candidate’s own statement where appropriate.
